Mission Statement:
Tribe Detroit is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of charitable activities for the benefit of various AIDS/Gay related groups and the positive portrayal of the Leather Community.

My chosen Leather Family!

Tribe means close friendships, respect, tradition, unity and brotherhood.  It is my chosen family coming together to make a difference in this world.  It may only be a small change like giving to a charity when it is desperately needed, helping a fellow brother out in rough times or just entertaining the leather community at Do A Fool to benefit all.  But to me, it also is preserving the tradition of a leather lifestyle that, in my heart, I will NOT let die.

History:
Tribe began in 1970 as Spearhead-Detroit, a chapter of Spearhead Toronto.

In the summer of 1971, a delegation went to Toronto and negotiated a split from Spearhead, and Tribe as it is known today officially began.

In 1977, Tribe members Bill Baldridge and Dale Wisner founded Nimbus Michigan.

Nimbus’ colors reflect its shared heritage with the clubs that inspired it. The triangular shape of their symbol is in respect to the somewhat 3 sided “Triskelion” of Tribe, while the red on black color scheme is in honor of Spearhead Toronto

Have you noticed the jazzy new pins showing up around town and you want to get your hands on one. You can get ether the Friendship Pin or the Associate pin by checking out the membership page or by submitting yourself to a Tribe member for inspection (well, you could just ask him too.)
